Biographical Notes & TriviaBirthday: 11 December 1962 (Memphis, TN, USA) Although born in Tennessee, Ben was raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, where his family still resides. He graduated from Myers Park High School in 1981, and went on to receive a BS in Psychology from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina, where he was involved with campus drama, and played on the football team. In 1989 he met and married Francesca Buller while studying at London's Central School of Speech and Drama, where he was being classically trained as a Shakespearean actor. The couple has two children, whose privacy they have carefully guarded throughout their time in the public eye. Ben's family owns and operates a race car in Charlotte, North Carolina; at least one of his brothers (Neil) is a professional driver. The IMDb claims that his favorite movie is Jeremiah Johnson (1972), "the concept of which was warped into an episode of his show"; the parallels, however, are very slim.
